Bill of Materials

The Bill of Materials (BOM) module is designed to give the maximum amount of control over both the costing of finished products, and raw materials, work in progress and finished goods stock.

Product information is drawn from product master and detail files which are common to the SOP, POP and Stock systems, and the bill of materials file contains details of the components and quantities that make up that product.
Thus if one component cost price changes, the cost price of all finished articles containing that component can be automatically updated.

Entering an article into stock as Finished will also update the work in progress stock figures accordingly.

Search and Display

If product details are not to hand, the system allows the operator to search the files by entering a small part of the code or the description as appropriate.

As components and quantities are added to the product, the product cost price is calculated and displayed.

Reporting

Extremely comprehensive reports available. Price print showing the the current and pending assembly cost, detailed print for stock requisitioning, audit reports.

Assemblies

Products do not have to be EITHER finished articles OR components - they can be both.

Updating

Change the cost price of one component or assembly, and automatically update the finished article cost price. If the change is not to take effect immediately, change the PENDING price, enter the date it becomes effective, and Update the PENDING prices. Great for preparing business plans.

Work in progress

Set up a location as “Work in Progress”, and transfer stock from raw materials. When products completed, updating finished goods stock will automatically reduce work in progress stock.
