Weekly Ledgers
The Crown Sales Ledger has an option to be run as a weekly ledger, fitting in with the way credit to retailers is normally controlled.
Box Numbers
Box numbers may be held on the customer records separately from the account number, enabling credit to be held separately for shop owners if the retail outlet changes hands. There is also a box renumbering facility which will renumber all accounts, along with their balance and transaction history, to their box number.
Multiples
There are many facilities which make dealing with large multiples easier. Statements may be printed individually or for all accounts linked to a head office. Cash can be allocated to invoices across all accounts relating to a chosen multiple account.
Credit Terms & Surcharging
Credit terms may be defined as a cash amount or a number of weeks. Each customer may have two sets of credit terms defined to allow different payment terms for newspapers, magazines or sales from other sources. Surcharges may be applied to invoices which have not been paid within
the specified credit terms. |
BACS
The Crown Sales Ledger interfaces to a BACS system, allowing the wholesaler to automatically collect the due invoice amount from the retailer’s bank account (with their approval) on a weekly basis.
This has often been used in conjunction with surcharging in order to dramatically reduce the outstanding debt.
History
Invoice, balance and payment history is retained for as long as required. From this, a history of the credit terms a customer has taken can easily be viewed. Another useful facility is the ease with which a list of all invoices paid by a cash receipt can be viewed.
Other Business Areas
Many news wholesalers provide other services to their news customers. Crown Sales Order Processing and Stock Control can sit alongside a news wholesaling package to feed these sales into a single sales ledger providing truly effective credit control.
