Multiple Locations
Stock may be maintained in up to 99 separate locations such as branches, sub-depots, retail outlets or vans as appropriate to the nature of the business. Both primary locations, where the location may be responsible for it's own accounting, and secondary locations, where purely local stock is to be maintained, are catered for.
Product Groups & Types
Products may be separated into product groups and product types which may then be used for reporting and analysis purposes.
Suppliers
Preferred and alternate suppliers can be specified for each product along with each supplier's product code, minimum order and lead times for delivery.
Supplier and selling pack sizes are also maintained within the system.
Bin Locations
Stock may be held in detail at bin location level. Sales will automatically reduce the stock level from the bin location selected on the picking point. Stock may be moved from one bin location to another to keep track of warehouse activity.
Sub-codes
Matrices of product sub-codes may be created to refine the definition of a product, e.g. for colour/size or for issues of a publication. Stock figures and analysis values are held at both product and sub-code level.
Pricing & Price Changes
A standard selling price, up to six trade prices, special offer prices, retail price and cost prices are held to allow different prices to be selected for different types of customers. Promotion or price update may be set for user specified dates. For promotions, the special offer price will revert to its original price on the special offer closing date. Split pack surcharges can also be applied to products normally sold in cartons. Discount cross references can be applied to product groups and discounts related to quantity may be applied to individual products. Prices may be globally updated with a percentage change or as a percentage mark up on cost.
Stock Valuation
Stock levels are automatically adjusted by the SOP and POP modules. Other stock movements and adjustments are recorded directly via the Stock module. Stock may be moved between locations, incurring product code changes if necessary. All stock adjustments record a change in stock valuation which may later be analysed and reported. All stock value changes, whether as a result of price changes, sales, purchases or adjustments may be posted to the nominal ledger thus maintaining an accurate stock valuation entry in the balance sheet.
Reports
A wide range of reports allows the user to review stock levels and analyse trends, including stock valuation, stock quantity list, products analyses, shortfall and negative stock reports, slow and non-moving products list, stock adjustment valuation lists and full pre- and post- stock take lists and variance reports. |
Bill of Materials
Products may be defined as finished articles, components or both. A dual level bill of materials allows changes in component costs to be reflected in assembly costs at a chosen time.
Stock Taking
All products or a selected section of the product file may be earmarked for stock takes. Counted stock may be entered manually or via a hand held terminal. Variances are reported on and, once resolved, the final figures may be used to update the stock file.
Enquiries
Detailed product and stock enquiries allow the user to examine stock levels, pricing and sales performance for any product. Outstanding sales and receipts may be viewed, along with the breakdown of stock amongst bin locations and an analysis of valuation change. Stock and financial analysis figures are retained so the position at any historic period may be viewed, as may graphical representation of the movement over time.
